Pregnancy is one of the most exciting and memorable times in our lives. We are bringing a new beautiful life in to this world, and that is a beautiful thing. During this time in our lives we don’t necessarily want to be in front of the camera, but it is one of the most important times of your life to document. You will never experience this pregnancy again. You will never get this moment back, once you have your baby the decision is done. I have lost count with how many parents book a pregnancy session for their second child, and mention how sad they are that they didn’t book a pregnancy session with their first.
You will never be in this exact pregnancy again. You will never look exactly like you do, you will never be this age or carry this child again. Once you deliver, this moment will be gone forever and it will be just a memory that will fade with time. Just like all moments of our lives, we need to document these moments. Not just for our desires, but for our legacy. We need to document this time for our children, for our children’s children!
When to book your maternity session.
Knowing when to book your maternity session is always hard. You want to have that perfect baby bump, but you don’t want to wait too long and miss your session if you deliver early. Every pregnancy is different, so there is no way without visiting with you, and potentially your Doctor, to know exactly when you should schedule your session. Typically, women chose to schedule their maternity session around 30 weeks. I wrote a blog post specifically about this question, you can view that post here.
What do I wear?
I encourage my clients to bring clothing they love to their session. Maternity sessions with jeans, a tube top or bandeau or a favorite button up shirt are always beautiful and personalized to each client. I always offer to my clients a full maternity gown wardrobe to choose from. These gowns range in size small to extra large. If you need additional sizes, just let me know and I can add to my wardrobe. Sign up for my pregnancy & newborn newsletter here and receive a free digital copy of my pregnancy guide.
